Over 30 lakh students appeared in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Jawahar (JNV) class 6 selection test, which was held on Sunday, January 12, 2020. A total of 30,46,506 candidates who appeared in the entrance exam are 46.19 percent female students. JNVST was held for admission to 48,000 seats.

Important information regarding JNV Admission 2020

We have listed some important information about the admission and selection process of JNV, about which candidates should be listed below for your reference.




Selection in Test There will be no right on the candidate to secure admission in JNV. At the time of obtaining actual admission, each selected candidate has to produce all relevant certificates prescribed by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Until admission, the selection is provisional only. Candidates are advised to apply for TC from parent school only after verification of documents and confirmation of admission by the concerned JNV.

In case of any dispute, the decision of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will be final and binding on the candidates.



The marks obtained by the candidates (both selected and not selected) are not tested.

There is no provision for re-evaluation of answer scripts or reassignment of marks, as the result is processed through computer and adequate care is taken to ensure accuracy through various investigations in processing the result.

It may also be noted by the candidates and their parents / guardians that under the scheme of NVS, students of one JNV located in a Hindi speaking state may have to migrate to another JNV in a non-Hindi speaking state and one The opposite may be true for academics. Candidates and their parents / guardians may note that only children selected on the basis of the test will be admitted to JNV located in the district from where they are studying in class V and appearing in JNVST. No request to transfer students for the medium of education in the concerned JNV, parents / guardians will be transferred to another district (s) / state (s) etc.


Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) will have to produce Caste / Tribe certificate to get admission, if it is selected. Such certificate should be obtained from the competent authority before 30th March of the year of admission so that it can be presented to the Principal of JNV concerned at the time of verification of the document. For example, candidates seeking admission during 2020-21 should obtain a certificate on or before 30 March 2020.

Candidates applying for admission under the rural category will have to give a certificate to the effect that the school (s) where the candidates have studied classes III, IV and V is located in the rural area.

If a medical certificate signed by the Chief Medical Officer of the concerned district is to be selected at the time of admission in the appropriate format, then candidates belonging to the Divyang category (orthopedically handicapped, hearing impaired and blind handicapped) will have to produce.

Candidates belonging to the transgender category will have to produce a certificate from the competent authority prescribed by the respective state government. With regard to their gender. No reservation has been made for this category.
