What happened?

Around 200 Naxalites launched a major attack on the Indian Army in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. In which a total of 22 soldiers have been martyred. A young man is still missing. The bodies of 20 more jawans have been found in a Naxalite attack in Tarrem in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. DG DM Awasthi has confirmed this. A total of 22 bodies have been found so far. 1 jawan is still missing. A total of 31 jawans are injured. This is the a biggest Naxalite attack of this year.

Naxalites used rocket launchers and LMG in the attack on Saturday. The army carried out operations in Bijapur, a Naxalite stronghold. The campaign against the Naxalites was in the heartland of Hidma, one of the largest People's Liberation Group of Naxalites, Army Platoon One (PLGA 1).

The CRPF and the Chhattisgarh Police knew that Hidma, a senior Naxalite commander, was in the village of Pavarti, 1 km from the attack, when the CRPF and the District Reserve Guard of the Chhattisgarh Police conducted a joint operation.

15 naxalites killed

The army was attacked by a unit of Hidma-led Naxalite Organization People's Liberation Group Army Platoon One. In this operation, the army has also got a great success and 15 Naxalites of the Naxal cadre have been killed, but when the army was going in, the Naxalites attacked them.

Missing soldiers were searched after clash yesterday

After the conflict yesterday, 21 soldiers were missing. A search operation was launched this morning to search for army personnel. The bodies of 2 of the 5 soldiers who were martyred in yesterday's conflict were found. The bodies of 20 more soldiers have been found during the search for the missing today. Thus far, a total of 22 soldiers have been martyred.

Therefore, some jawans have also been injured in the clash. Among the injured, 23 have been admitted to Bijapur Hospital and 7 to Raipur Hospital. Police have reached the spot and are investigating the incident.

Confirming the attack, SP Mohit Garg said that ambushed Naxalites attacked the army bus. 2 MI 17 helicopters were sent to Bijapur to rescue the injured.
