Introduction:

Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a revolutionary healthcare scheme launched by the Indian Government in 2018. Also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), this scheme aims to provide healthcare coverage to over 100 million poor and vulnerable families in India.

What is Ayushman Bharat Yojana?

Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a government-sponsored healthcare scheme that provides free health coverage to economically weaker sections of society. It is the largest healthcare scheme in the world, with an annual budget of over Rs 10,000 crore.

Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries are entitled to free hospitalization and medical treatment up to Rs. 5 lakh per year. The scheme covers a wide range of medical treatments, including surgery, daycare procedures, and critical illnesses such as cancer and heart disease.

The scheme also provides cashless treatment facilities at empaneled hospitals and healthcare providers across India. This means that eligible beneficiaries do not have to pay for medical treatment at the time of admission, and the cost is borne by the government.

Benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana:

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana has numerous benefits for eligible beneficiaries, including:

Access to free healthcare: The scheme provides free healthcare coverage to eligible families, ensuring that they do not have to bear the burden of medical expenses.

Cashless treatment: The scheme provides cashless treatment facilities at empaneled hospitals, reducing the financial burden on beneficiaries.

Comprehensive coverage: The scheme covers a wide range of medical treatments, including critical illnesses, ensuring that eligible families have access to quality healthcare.

Portability: The scheme is portable, meaning that eligible beneficiaries can avail of medical treatment at any empaneled hospital across India.

Ease of access: The scheme is easy to access, with beneficiaries able to apply for coverage online or through a network of CSCs (Common Service Centers).
