From the new academic year St. 6 textbooks will be changed in 1st to 12th, road safety, organic farming will be taught in standard 10


From the new academic year, one or more textbooks will be changed out of a total of 6 standard books in class 1 to 12. 

While a new chapter on road safety will be added in the social science textbook of class 10 and Gujarati language of class 12. 

Apart from this, the textbooks of various subjects of classes 5 to 8 will also be changed.

Currently, the work of preparing all the new textbooks is going on by the Textbook Board. 



The printing of new textbooks will start soon. 

The government adds new chapters in the school textbooks to keep the children updated with the changing times, so that the students get the knowledge of the new subjects. 

Currently there is a trend of subjects like road safety and organic farming, so that these subjects are gradually being added to the syllabus. 

Apart from this, the chapters related to the new subjects which have been added as per the new education policy will now also be added in the new textbooks. 

All chapters have added what knowledge children should have, as well as what to expect from future citizens on new issues.

The digital India campaign has promoted extensive use of ICTs in the teaching learning process. The ePathshala, a joint initiative of Ministry of Education(MoE), Govt. of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has been developed for showcasing and disseminating all educational e-resources including textbooks, audio, video, periodicals, and a variety of other digital resources. The ePathshala Mobile app is designed to achieve the SDG Goal no. 4 as well i.e. equitable, quality, inclusive education and lifelong learning for all and bridging the digital divide.


Students, Teachers, Educators and Parents can access eBooks through multiple technology platform that is mobile phones and tablets (as epub) and from the web portal through laptops and desktops (as Flipbook). ePathshala also allows users to carry as many books as their device supports. Features of these books allow users to pinch, select, zoom, bookmark, highlight, navigate, share, listen to text using text to speech (TTS) apps and make notes digitally.
